Why Working On Your Passion Is Not As Difficult As You May Think
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – Dr. Howard Thurman
Hello all.
We live in a society where most Americans are doing work they don’t enjoy. This is mainly because of the social conditioning we have all been brought up to believe. We were taught to work X amount of hours to get X amount of dollars, and if you like your job you are considered one of the lucky few.
My Observation
From my observation of truly happy, joyful and high achievers, I have found that these people all share one thing in common. Their work and their passion in life are blended in together as one. Truly happy, joyful high achievers set it up this way because they understand the importance of doing what they love for a living.
The idea of doing what you love is a concept many people in today’s society have a hard time grasping only because it sounds really good as an ideal to aspire to, but there seems to be many factors in the way of a person that actually intends to accomplish this.
The idea of working on your passion is not difficult in itself. For example, if you had a passion for music and loved playing the guitar, it is very easy for you to pick up a guitar and just start playing it for as long as you like. As you play the guitar you are working on your passion.
How Fear Stops People
However, what stops most people from pursuing their passion is Fear. Several different fears stand out, what society will think of you, fear of being different, fear of failing, fear of not having enough money.
Although there are many reasons people are fearful of not following their passions, for this blog post I have chosen the fear of not having enough money. I choose this one mainly because this is a misconceived fear that is very real to people in stopping themselves from following their passion.
There tends to be a lot of difficulty for most people will come from making money from ones passion. It seems to be the moment, we put the word “money” into the equation all sorts of emotions begin to pop up in people’s heads. This is because the topic of money has become very taboo in our society. We don’t talk about it so much, because there are a variety of emotions that come up with this topic. Depending on what you were conditioned to believe about money at an early age, will form your beliefs about it in your adult years.
In this post It is not my intention to try to tell you directly how to make money from your passion. The intent is to start inspiring and motivating you to opening up ideas for you to work on your passion, and find for yourself how to make money from this.
The reason I design it this way is because first of all, I never claim to be the “How to Guy” Secondly, I believe that with this structure I offer to to you, this is where your true passion is tested. I am very passionate person. What I write about in this blog about personal development is something I am passionate about. I believe that if someone was passionate about a cause, a project, or life dream that they would do whatever it really took (within law) to make their cause, project, or life dream happen.
In other words, if you completely take money out of the equation, and focus solely on your passion you will be tested in the form of self doubt. It is very natural as human beings to doubt ourselves. You will begin to doubt yourself, and ask yourself questions like “Is this what I should really be doing?” “I’m loosing money out of this, and won’t be able to pay my rent, maybe I should quit on this passion?”
The Truth Is
These questions of doubt and fear are really not a question about doubt or fear about money, but about how much belief you have in your passion. Money aside, it is your belief in what you are doing that really matters, and is at the core of everything. Yes, you may not realistically have the funds to take this on. But do you really think that, this roadblock is what stopped many other people who are achieving there dreams today? Once again it goes back to your inner fear of maybe just not being good enough, or fear of failing, or what society may think of you.
If you have to go to a job to pay bills, go to your job and pay bills. But spend the time you aren’t at your work on your passion to the fullest. This is the real test to your belief in making it happen. It isn’t as difficult as you may think because it really is just a matter of prioritizing time for your true passion. The people that make the time for their true passion are those that are highly successful. Sure there are many challenges and obstacles, but even after your job, if you really just set a little time each day on your passion you will be way ahead of the game. Just taking the time to make time for your passion is a positive step in the right direction. If there is a will there is always a way.
The universe recognizes when you are doing what you came here to do, and it will reward you. Your efforts won’t be denied if done with true belief, utter conviction, and unwavering faith. The universe responds to your belief and energy that you are sending out. If the energy you are sending out is, “I don’t think this will work,” the universe will comply and make sure that it doesn’t. It hears your energy.
If you gradually begin to see that it really just a belief in YOU that is holding you back from working on your passion, you will begin to see why my previous blogs are about helping you with the inner mindset of living a beyond successful life. Continue to re-read through my previous posts, as you will see the timeless value in each post to help you with your inner mindset. It really starts from your inner core beliefs about you. As you transform these ideas from “Maybe I can’t do this.” into “This will actually work out!” You will begin to see remarkable transformation in your life and will be well on your way to working on your passion. Working on your passion is not difficult once you get passed the fears that are in the way.

Fear, fear, fear. Why must we have to face this formidable enemy. You have shared a very encouraging post about how we can pass our fears. For me, it is only by embracing fear that we can really conquer it.
Hey Walter
Thank you for your feedback. I am glad that you found this information to be encouraging for you. I agree with you, and I personally resonate with the idea of “feel the fear and do it anyway.” I have found that for me doing this, develops my courage and builds a strong momentum for me to continue on my path.
