Peacefully Alone: A Poem
A poem I wrote from Arizona, 8 months living on my own, away from my hometown in Southern California.

Peacefully Alone
I ran with people that I can lean on and feed off their vibe
Now I stand alone on the way side
I brought people into my world and formed relationships that were high in QUANTITY
Now I seek solitude and find peace in the QUALITY
I ran with static noise that others believed about me
Now I sit in silence and find peace in my own energy
The pressure of knowing so many people at one give time
How can one not feel the need to run away to rest and unwind
A busy world where people come in and out
It came at the very same moment I was busy trying to figure everything out
In a room filled with a large number of people laughing with excitment
When all I really wanted was to find peace in my confinment
So many people surfacing around me with so many demands
So I began to create my own reality from within, and hope everyone eventually understands…
See my path as the most authentic and honest thing you can ever imagine
I am creating my reality at this moment, because I chose it to happen
I began to find peace with the quietness that many people of my past may have found odd
When in reality I was just tuning more into God
In a place where Native American Indians Once walked…
Where you know where someone is coming from without having to talk
I close and I open because my sensing of other’s energies is strong
So although I speak of peacfully being alone, I know it won’t last long…
For this journey is filled with both quietness and sound
The realization of both being alone and having many people around
All I can say now, is that I’m peace with
the realizations I have found
I hope that with my new found inner peace we can all find common ground.

Such a beautiful poem Baker. You’re fortunate to take the time and do some meaningful reflection and soul-searching. When you emerge, those who remain will be the ones who are meant to be in your life. Surround yourself with love and support in all you endeavors.
Be well,
Kim
Thank you Kim,
It is a blessing to have a few months away from everything and just come into my own and find the beauty in my inner peace.

Baker, hello from Japan. Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving your warm comment. I enjoyed your poem, and also the reconnection with Arizona you brought me – I lived there for many years. I especially liked your words, “Now I sit in silence and find peace in my own energy.” In understanding this you have tapped into your own deep inner wisdom. How glad I am to have followed you to your honest and caring blog. Hope we can continue to share perspectives. Spring greetings from the mountains – Catrien Ross.

Hi Baker.
Cool stuff here. Nice creation for the event of being alone, which is something that can occur so often.
We certainly can find common ground in it. When we are alone, we are sort of alone, but we are also together with all the others who are alone. We have to remember that. I have written some great articles when I was alone in a park at a time when others had left, and I was the only person around, but those articles were later posted for many to see. I don’t see myself alone these days, even if I am by myself in some regard.
We sure can find peace and energy in our own solitude.

Hi Baker,
Thank you for your thoughts. I think we all should look for that inner peace and look forward to spend some time alone, just as you are doing, to find important things that will help us growing up.
Nice poem!

Hi Armen,
Glad to see you on here. Yeah the point I wanted to get across was the balance of both the alone time and time with others. I think this balance gets overlooked a lot of times.
Hey Issac,
Yeah I have found that that alone time allows me to recharge my creative energies, thanks for the feedback!
Hi Baker. Beautifully written — insightful too. I especially like your appreciation of both quiet and sound. Of solitude and community. It’s a lovely balance we require, isn’t it?

Yes, the balance between the two is what makes both pleasant to take part in. Thank you for your feedback.
