In many previous posts, I write about the importance about being clear on what you want to create for yourself in your own life. I write about, (regardless of someone’s age) how it is okay if people aren’t very clear on what they want yet in life, but it isn’t okay if they aren’t taking action on trying new things to get closer to clarity of what they do want.

Taking A Risk

Many people talk about wanting change in their life, but are fearful of trying new things that may seem risky.
If one person knows about taking risks it is me. In late August of 2009 I took the risk, of leaving pretty much everything behind I had going on in California to come to Arizona on my own, not knowing a single soul. I literally didn’t have any friends or family when I first moved out here. For someone who was rather popular with an abundance of friends, family, and relatives always around me in California, it was safe to say this move was a major risk that I took.

It was very challenging and hard at first, but I gradually met a few like minds here and feel I have blossomed on a creative level since the move. I have simple yet beautiful physical space to create endlessly if I so choose.

Although, I wouldn’t call Arizona my permanent “home” at the moment, the fact that I took action based on my own intuition regardless of the challenges I may have faced means I practice what I blog about. Being a person that is willing to try new things, makes me feel more empowered with my own life. I like being in the driver’s seat, and creating my reality as I go along in a very positive manner that is consistent and aligned with my natural self. This makes my life exciting and enjoyable at the moment.

It doesn’t suprise me that most of the people that ever achieved any real rewards in life, at some point had to take major risk. Fellow blogger Hulbert Lee at fromthebottomup.com-The Rising Stories of Influential People, blogs very meticuously about the lives of great achievers and the common theme I see that runs very clearly is that at some point in that person’s life, there was a major risk that the person took action on.

My blog has evolved since I first started writing on this blog in November 2007.
It has gone through several designs, formats, and styles of writing. But, I continue to take action by willing to change and remain flexible, because I know the power in experimentation.

Continue To Experiment For Yourself

I urge people to continue to experiment and try out new things because, as you can see, I do this myself. What happens when I do this and experiment? I step outside of my comfort zone. I don’t know exactly how people will think of the new look and feel but, I do it because I follow my inner guidance. When I step outside of my comfort zone, it does sometimes feel a little bit scary at first. But, I remind myself that from my previous past experience even when it feels fearful and scary to step outside of my comfort level those were the time I continued to grow and evolve the most.

Think about your past, the times you probably felt the most personal growth was more than likely when you were stepping outside of your comfort zone.

So if you are not clear of what direction your life, project, relationships, or business is going, I urge you to continue to experiment. Go with the flow, and do what feels like the right fit for yourself. Don’t be afraid to try new things, this is how things move along, expand, and evolve. If you mess up, well that’s just one way that won’t work. There truly is an abundance of ways that do work that will get you closer to realizing your wildest dreams.

Don’t fear change, change truly is the only constant.
The change of the look of my blog may be a small example of the power of trying out new things and experimentations, but what I’ve found in my life is that it’s the small tweaks here and there in our personal lives add up in a major way in the long term.
Continually stepping outside of your comfort zone when the time calls for it, allows you that space to grow and evolve in your own life in a positive manner, resulting in real change for you.

There is a power in experimenting and trying new things. Through this blog, I hope you can literally see what I mean. :)

Getting out of your comfort zone is a tough thing to do. Making changes no matter what the risk invloves is also difficult. But, breaking out of the comfort zone means taking chances, where some will work and some will not. Just keep on plugging along.

    Hello Pat,
Yes, Getting out of people’s comfort zone is easier said, than done but I have to agree with you taking those chances that are well worth it at the end, because either direction there is a lesson of great wisdom that you can take with you for the rest of your life, and this is a very positive thing.

  4. We all want change. But few take risk and start with hard work.

I’m glad you changed your blog layout. Of course, like everything this layout is not perfect, however it is concentrated on content, and serves its purpose well. I wish you and your readers to proceed with major and minor changes and start living up to your potential.

    Hello Marko,
I think it is great we both changed the look and feel of our blogs at relatively the same time. It is a fun and joyful journey isn’t it? I have a lot of fun on all aspects of creativity.

  6. Baker -

I really like the new layout, look and feel of the blog.

This is a truly personal thing, but I felt I’d share – I find the white on black really hard to read (it gives me a migrane). I could be alone on this, however wanted to put that out there.

Keep up the great work – you are getting better and better all the time.

    Nice post!
I experiment a lot also. Not so much with the layout of my blog with the life that I live. That life is the content for my blog. I try to do different challenges and experiments in my life so that I have something to say. The posts that I write about my E&E (experiments and experiences) usually do the best on my blog.

Thanks Ralph for the feedback! I appreciate your comments.

  10. Hi Baker,

Moving beyond what we are comfortable with seriously can bring us staggering results. It requires courage sometimes to do what we think we should. If we refuse to do this, we may very well miss out on a chance of a lifetime. I dare say many of us already have.

As I read this post it reminded me of my daughter seizing her chance with a world, of unknown possibilities. If you are interested you can read her story here – “Success Takes Courage” – http://thisshouldhelp.net/brandi.php

Thanks for blogging and I look forward to learning more.

    Warm Regards,

I love that phrase you use “staggering results’ that term resonates well with me at the moment. This is true when we make a real effort to step out of that comfort zone we become so much better as people and have those staggering results!!! Keep in touch.
