There is only one tool you every really need to be awesome in your life. This tool is a key tool that many may overlook, and many may underestimate. The reason that many may overlook or underestimate this key tool is because what we learn from society goes completely contradictory of this one tool. Society tells us to limit our individuality and expression, so that it conforms to what they want.

From my own personal experiences, with my ups and downs in life, I have found that the one tool to be awesome is to simply be yourself.

That’s it! I know for some that may sound overly simplistic. But, the truth is some of the very best and most powerful advice comes off at the core very simplistic and basic in its core nature. When each one of us goes within, ourselves and operates from that inner part of our being in whatever we are doing, the ability to be awesome begins to emerge for us. If you can be yourself in a crowded room of conforming individuals, you will shine.

I continue to shine, because I look for ways to creatively express my ideas and thoughts in a manner that is consistent with my inner self. This is what it means to shine from within. You will begin to see major changes in your energy level and experiences in a positive way when you truly begin to just be yourself wherever you are at, with whoever you are with. When you are operating from whom you truly are, your life becomes limitless. From this space you are an expression of the divine. This space and knowing allows you to live a life beyond your wildest dreams.

Many people are so afraid of being themselves in fear of being judged. But, the reality is when you are being judged either in a positive or negative way by others, it’s not you entirely they are judging. They are judging inner parts of themselves as well. We are just a mirror to each other. When you begin to see that being judged by others either in a positive or negative way is really inner parts of themselves they are expressing towards you, you can relax the whole idea of trying too hard to impress others.

I enjoy observing senior citizens a lot. I like their swagger. They’ve come to the point in their lives where they don’t really care how others see them and they do things very slowly in the present moment. Old people are awesome. They are just being themselves in the moment. :)

The reason I hardly ever say negative things about others, is because my inner light also sees their inner light. The more I operate from my true self, the more I can see the inner light of others. If you are constantly seeing the negative aspects in others, your life will reflect that back to you. It’s really an energy thing.

Do some people get on my nerves, and anger me? Yes they do. Do I sometimes feel like karate chopping people to death because of certain things that piss me off. Yes. That is a very natural human reaction to be angry and disappointed. But, I can limit those reactions I get from others, by taking a moment to just breathe come back to my inner space and see their light, regardless of the circumstance. In any encounter you find yourself with others, it is important to always take a very non-judgmental attitude. This allows you to fully hear what the other person is saying, and limits a lot of the anger and disappointment we may encounter by mistakenly misjudging the person we are in conversation with.

Being awesome has everything to being aware of the inner you. This means that when you are simply being yourself, you empower and light up the room for others to be the same way. In that manner being yourself is what is allowing you to bring light into those you come in contact with.

Who would’ve thought something so simple, can bring so much light to others?

Being Awesome,

    Hi Baker,

I hold the meaning of your post close to my heart as it has lead me to re-design areas of my life, work with those who resonate with me, allow those who don’t resonate with me to fall away and be okay with it, and on and on.

It’s about being comfortable in your own skin, not being judgmental, and living in the moment. This brings an inner peace.

    Keep Shining :)

  2. HI Baker, I enjoyed this post.
For a very long time (esp. my teens) I was always concerned with being liked. And as I got older and learned to process my thoughts and begin to really LOVE me for me. The world of possibilities opened up.
I truly believe that when you make room for your gifts, talents, skills, and allow it to shine then THE GIFTS will MAKE room for you.

Thank You for sharing your true self to all of us here.
    I appreciate you

  3. Hey Baker. Nicely said man. Being ourselves is one of the biggest keys to success. I’ve tried to impersonate others in the past and I realized that it really didn’t work for me. I lost a sense of myself. I also like how you said that you see the light in others. Although there were people who angered me in the past, I started doing that also and it helped me let go, making me feel better inside. This doesn’t always work, but I try my best. I think the most important thing is for us to love ourselves. Doing that helps us become more aware of the inner us in my opinion. Great post as always man. Keep it up!

  4. Yes it is so important to stay true to ourselves and not follow the mindless, but to have our own way of thinking and behaving as long as it doesn’t break and legal laws or moral codes. Be you!!!

  9. Baker, every time I read your blog I am impressed. I am quite enjoying it, especially with your style of writing. :)

I’d just like to add, to be yourself, means just that. “To be yourself” does not mean you must act that you are someone who you would like to be. No no no! “To be yourself” means to be relaxed and natural. As you’re close to a good friend.

I say this because many people wrongly interpreted that “be yourself” means “to be what you WANT to be” rather than “be what you are at this moment.”

I came across your blog and I am loving it. So inspiring… I am one of those lost souls, no idea which direction and how I should lead my life. Sounds pathetic, but really much like a yo-yo. I want life, I want love, I want abundance. Reading your blog, perhaps I might have found a way. thanks

  12. Baker says:

    Gaia,
Awesome! The best advice I would give is to continue to follow your heart and recognize your thoughts and feelings are energy. You can create what you choose by your intentions and thoughts and you can make your wildest dreams a reality. The universe figures all that other technical stuff for you. Continue to trust your inner guidance!!! :)

  19. Baker -

This post is really funny. You’re so right about old folks – they don’t care about what the world thinks and just live life as themselves. I agree that finding a sense of self creates a peace and tranquility. When we’re present and authentic, that desire to karate chop others to death is acknowledged, considered and shelved! Good stuff sir!
