Success is not something that can be found outside of a person. There are symbols and things outside of a person that can indeed represent success. But success, is inward.

Who you are as a person will determine your success in life. I understand that during this very crucial time in history, there are many people going through life with much struggle and pain. Many people are now facing challenges either financially, emotionally, and or spiritually.

These challenges that many people face today has a lot to do with the fact that they maybe very well be still operating from the outward approach to life. They may very well be the people searching answers outside of them to find fulfillment and happiness. This can be in many forms, but the point is that searching for honest answers to your own life questions cannot be found from by looking outside of yourself for answers.

Regardless, of where you are in your own personal development journey you probably would always come back to that place that you know is safe, secure, and real. This place is the place that is completely free of the ego, not worried about what anyone else thinks of it, and never lets you down.

This place is your spirit. Your spirit and the degree that you are in aligned with this spirit is what allows success to flow towards you or further away from you. So when everything else in your life is happening at either very rapid fast pace, or a more slow pace, the truth is that it is your spirit that is the energy behind making things manifest and happen in your life.

You are not what your parents, teachers, your boss, peers say you are. You are your spirit. You are the still inner voice that wants the very best for all you do. You are that voice inside your heart that takes inspired action on your talents and shares it with the world. You are the blessing to this earth that radiates joy for others to want to follow in.

Behind all the noise and activity it is your spirit that is very much alive and is really the fuel that pushes you in the direction of your passions and creations. It is who you are, not necessarily what you do that determines your level of fulfillment and happiness in life which most agree are factors of a successful life.

Accessing that spirit for yourself, comes from taking an inward approach towards your own life. It takes a lot of what most call “soul searching” or being in alignment with your true self.

This may mean, that you need more time out for yourself and just reflect and write out what it is you truly want in life. This also may mean getting really still and practice meditation on a daily basis, to begin to listen to your spirit’s voice once again.

Following your own spirit may have its many challenges. It is very easy to sway off course and continually seek for things outside of ourselves to bring us long term fulfillment. With the inward approach to your life, the rewards are worthwhile. After research, study, and in my own personal life, I have found the top 5 reasons why having an inward approach to life guarantees your success in life.

Reason 1

No Competition

When you are operating with an inward approach towards your life, you will see that there really is no competition out there. From this space, you become your own completion. You set the bar for how far you want to go in life, with the rules and regulation you make up for yourself. This is a very empowered place to be to only be competing with yourself and focusing on your dreams, your goals, your lifestyle. Your inward approach to life allows you to be free of competition.

Reason 2

Attracting NOT Chasing

Going with the inward approach in your own life, will allow you the opportunity to attract more of what you choose to experience by attracting that thing without having to chase after it. There is nothing wrong with chasing after things that you enjoy in life. However, with the inward approach, the alternative is allowing these things to flow into your life with trust and ease. This trust and ease comes when you are focusing inward. You will see that with this approach you act as a magnet drawing to you the energy in which your inner spirit is sending out.

Reason 3

It Becomes More Real

The pursuit of your own success becomes and feels more real when you go inward. The reason is because from this space your inner energy is what is manifesting things your way. This means that you are taking action on what inspires you and only you. For example, just because writing for me is an action I do that inspires me, doesn’t necessarily mean it is an action that inspires you. You may be very inspired to do something totally different, but the fact that you are working from a place of honesty within your spirit, the process of doing what you are doing feels more authentic and real. So, whatever outward success you do achieve, it feels more real because of the alignment of your spirit to your end achievement.

Reason 4

More Fulfillment

An inward approach allows you the opportunity to take more inspired actions for yourself. As you become more aware of this knowledge you will seek out activities that only inspire you and that feel right. This means you are listening to your spirit’s knowing and that amazing feeling of feeling fulfilled starts to emerge from within you radiating outwards. The closer you stay in alignment with your true purpose in this life the more fulfilled you will feel as a result. That feeling of fulfillment is your spirit’s way of telling you that you are on the right track, continue to follow your joy with inspired action!

Reason 5

Better Connection With Others

As you move inward you will see that you can connect more easily and honesty with other people. The reason is because at the end of the day we are all connected. This means when you strip down all the ego identifications we are all one. With this new found idea, you will be in a space that wants and desires to share your talents, ideas, and service to others for the greater good of all. Being who you truly are, by focusing on your inward approach allows your success to be a collective one that makes you feel more connected with others. The better you get at connecting with yourself, the better your connection with others unfolds.

Great post. Working on inner development is something concrete that no-one can take away. It is at the core of living a values based life, and living authentically. I do think that point 5 is vital too. We need to find inner peace and strength, however this is best used in interdependent expression in the outer world. Once we’re comfortable and at peace we can learn to collaborate with others to make the world a better place. Great stuff.

    Hi Baker,

No matter what ‘outfit’ you’re wearing here, I can sense your peaceful flow through your words.

It’s important to block out external noise and drama and to connect within. Your reasons to focus on inner growth inevitably leads us to attract what we are — it better be good ;)

Attracting not chasing – attraction is powerful. When people chase they seem to needy. When you’re attractive things fall in place. I rather be attracting than chasing.

Astonishing “inner-discussion” you have here… I love to read these “thoughts on growth.” Also, your five reasons at the end are great, a good example of conscious thinking.

New, blue, blog theme Baker… I was wondering will you put a blue, as you mentioned on Twitter that successful websites have a blue background… :)

    All the best… Marko

This post was a great one to read. I caught myself thinking about the same subject today as I was starting my morning. It’s all about YOU. There is no direction in life without the YOU factor. It’s the inward approach to success that brings it, and makes it LAST.

    Hi Baker,
Nice post… glad I found your blog. I love the ideas of an “Inward approach to life.” When we turn within and listen to that still small voice we will never be led astray. The first commandment of growth is to continually express more of our unlimited nature. Obeying this commandment requires that our mind considers no exterior condition superior to our ability to create. The World-Voice will do all it can to pollute and dilute the inner voice of our unlimited nature. It is with quiet decision that we grant ourselves immunity from the World-Voice.

BTW, I don’t know how long I’ve been away from your blog. As I recall, you had a new-ish design the last time I was here? Anyway, I like this one, too. It has a calming effect without looking generic.
