Making Creative Visualization Part of Your Life

I wanted Maria to go ahead and share with you all, a process that is near and dear to my heart. This is a process I do every morning as almost like a daily ritual.

What I’ve learned in my own experience is that this process below has been very beneficial to my own personal life currently at the age of 26.

From manifesting my own plush apartment in upscale Scottsdale Arizona, to successfully self publishing my own e-book, being my own boss, manifesting positive supportive relationships with amazing people, and enjoying abundance in my life…I can say the process below works.

No, I am not a millionaire or drive ultra fancy cars (yet). But, I do live a life of freedom, and a lifestyle that suits me best at this moment, that I can honestly say I sincerely enjoy, and that I am very grateful for.

The process is called Creative Visualization. What I’ve learned is that by consciously applying the process of Creative Visualization in my own life, that the results have been a very blessed and enriched experience for me personally. I made a vow to myself that if I started using creative visualization and start seeing success with it in my life, that I would teach it to others so they too can benefit from an enriched life as well.

Below is the step by step process to applying creative visualization in your own life. Apply this step by step process for 30 days, and see if it doesn’t help the manifestation process happen for you with success in your own life.

Making Creative Visualization Part of Your Life

American philosopher William James once said, “Belief creates the actual fact.”
Of course, if you believed the world was flat, you’d be delusional, but that’s not what we’re talking about.
Creative visualization is the underlying principle of the very commonly used word and concept, optimism. Practitioners define it as the endeavor to affect the external world with changes to internal thought. This is not If you build it, they will come, but rather If you think it, it will build itself.

History and Use in Sports

First conceptualized in the US with the 19th century New Thought movement and practiced by Wallace Wattles (who also studied Hinduism), creative visualization has garnered significant scientific attention and applause in recent years. Perhaps most notable is the Soviet Russian scientific experiment that involved 4 groups of Olympic athletes, whose training schedules were changed and studied:

• Group 1: 100% emphasis on physical training
• Group 2: 75% emphasis on physical training with 25% emphasis on mental training
• Group 3: 50% emphasis on physical training with 50% emphasis on mental training
• Group 4: 25% emphasis on physical training with 75% emphasis on mental training

The Soviet experiment concluded that Group 4, the one which trained least with the body and most with the brain—using visualization techniques using all of their senses—performed the best. Strenuous visualization exercises of the mind, in this manner, acted as preludes to muscular impulses.
Benefits to Daily Life
Similarly, creative visualization has been used among several athletic training circles to enhance performance. You can use this technique in your daily life, however, and not only in physical endeavors. If you have a specific goal—to behave more positively and less reactively; to add a mile to your daily jog; to feel less pain from an old injury giving you, despite therapy, chronic pain—creative visualization can be another tool in your arsenal of meaningful, positive living.


Creative Visualization in Practice

1. Situate yourself in a quiet, calm, and comfortable place, much like you would for yoga or meditation.

2. Relax. Make a conscious effort to feel individual parts leading to each other with relaxation—from your toes to your feet, your feet to your legs, your hips to your belly, etc. Focus on your breathing when your body has relaxed. You may have to make conscious efforts to stay relaxed at first, but practice makes perfect.

3. To begin the visualization process, decide what goal you wish to achieve. A better occupation? Healthier lifestyle? Start smaller than these vague, grand goals into ones you can quantify. Work your way up to broader goals as you become more adept with creative visualization and can acknowledge that it has positively affected your life.

4. Once you have a grasp on the goal you wish to achieve, picture it. Picture the object or yourself in the desirable situation as if you already had it. Do not scorn or belittle this image—treat it as a reality. Concentrate on details of this picture and try to feel it with individual parts of your body, especially if this is a physical goal. The key here is to really feel the experience as though it were really happening right now, not sometime later in the future, but now.

5. Release yourself from this meditative state and go on about your day. Think of the image you conjured frequently, though. Visualize it over your morning cup of coffee or tea, during your lunch break, while lying awake in bed. Surround this image with positive energy.
Like meditation or any other therapy or activity, creative visualization takes practice, dedication, earnestness, and time. Treat creative visualization as a tool on your lifelong journey, not as a pill you pop whenever you need an energy boost.
