How To Relieve Stress

Stress can be anything that is hard for the body to manage without the use of cortisol and adrenaline. It can be physical and emotional; long-term and short-term. Dealing with stress can be difficult, but relieving it can be surprisingly simple.

Stress Epidemic

Everywhere you turn people want to learn how to relieve stress. People want to be more healthy. Stress is a major contributor to many harsh diseases such as cancer, diabetes, obesity, etc. You have to know that in order to relieve stress that your hormones actually play a role in your stress levels. The hormones in your body that play a role with stress are able to be combated by diet and lifestyle habits. With the amount of people I meet who are over-loaded with stress, it is only right that there be a good amount of ways to correct this, especially when stress is sometimes unavoidable.

How to relieve stress Pet An Animal

In Anxiety, Stress & Coping: An International Journal, there was a study done which showed petting animals can reduce state-anxiety (this study was not restricted to animal-lovers only). So if you don’t have a pet, and are constantly stressed, maybe you should consider getting one. It’s ok if you’re allergic to fluffy critters, because hard-shelled animals were included in this particular study, and were said to have the same effect as the soft, cuddly ones. So if you wanted to really know a quick way on how to relieve stress, pet a cat or dog.

How To Relieve Stress By Drinking Milk

Drinking milk is another great way on how to relieve stress. Both the lactose and the fat in milk help slow down the absorption of insulin-secreting amino acids, and actually minimize cortisol secretion. Casein, the main protein in milk, also has been shown to have direct anti-stress effects.

How To Relieve Stress Breathe Deeply

Taking deep breathes is an excellent way on how to relieve stress. Deep abdominal breathing can actually increase carbon dioxide in the body. Carbon dioxide is a great factor to protect against stress. It actually allows the blood to have less of an affinity for oxygen, and to “share” it with the rest of the tissues in the body. By breathing deeply, you’re also reducing the amount of lactic acid in your body, which is a common cause of headaches.

How To Relieve Stress Taking A Hot Shower

The final way on how to relieves tress is taking a hot shower or bath. Heating your external skin up can have great thyroid-boosting properties. The thyroid gland is an important part of the endocrine system in the body, and releases and controls many hormones, while also controlling metabolism. By increasing your thyroid, you are increasing your body’s ability to reduce the effects of stress. The nicest way that I’ve found on how to relieve stress is probably taking a hot shower.

Relief From Stress

So now you know that relieving stress can be easy. When it’s not always possible to eliminate stressors in your life right away, knowing how to rid yourself of the aftermaths they cause are essential. This post has showed you how to relieve stress.

  1. Hi Maria,
Stress is an epidemic that is almost out of control in our society. The adrenal gland in most people is burnt out and that is why many are suffering from stress related illnesses.

Thanks for this. When I am stressed, I just eat chocolates and ice cream. It calm my mind and my emotions. I know it’s a little childish but it works for me. Sometimes, I also sing or just sleep to avoid further stresses. Lol

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was wondering what all is needed to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100% sure. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
