Measuring Success

Measuring success, how do you measure it? What were you told as a child about measuring success?
There is a way that I measure my success that works for me all the time. The reason this works all the time, is because this measure of success that I use and have come up with is probably the most accurate and down to earth measurement I can ever use.

The reason this is the most down to earth and realistic model of measuring my success, is mainly because this measurement has nothing to do with the following:

1. What other people think.
2. What society will label it as.
3. Outward Achievement Symbols, Material Attainment.

If you take away those three things, and you go back to how you FEEL about where you are in your life now, that feeling is the most accurate measuring  success. Measuring success is what you feel inside about yourself.

Measuring Success Is A Feeling

The degree to your feeling of gratitude, and enjoyment of where you are right now in your life is the measure of success that is most accurate.

The reason it works this way, is because success ultimately is what you are feeling about yourself and your life situation at any given moment. I am successful at this moment, because I am coming from my heart space and my ability to clearly and creatively express myself with these words is in of itself successful. Measuring success is how you feel.
The reason I can continue to see success in my own life that I feel happy about is because of the alignment
that I bring to whatever I am choosing to engage in.

I love attaining my own personal goals, and receiving symbols of achievement and having an abundance of money, which I already do have, and will continue to accumulate in this lifetime. I appreciate what the many things I already do have, and already have achieved on this material physical plane, which for a 27 year old may seem like a lot.

Measure Success Is Deeper

But, dig a little deeper and you will see that success at its purest form is a feeling of fulfillment. Knowing that you did your best with what you were capable of at the time and learning to enjoy that feeling and feel grateful for where you already are is a space within you.

If we start to look at this model or measure of success a lot closely, we can start seeing success for what is is, and what is isn’t. This is a nice model to always have, because it comes from an honest place.

Your very connection with how aligned you are with who you are and what you are BEING…. Already is success. The very essence of success is founded in joy, happiness, peace, and abundance.

My Own Personal  Experience Measuring Success

In my own experience and what I’ve learned, is that very simply when I feel more aligned with who I know myself to be on the inside is when I am open to feelings of joy, happiness, peace, and abundance.
This space is a nice place to be, because there is no need to defend this position, over-exaggerate how good this space feels, or compare myself to others.

I am simply “being” me. This space of simply being in alignment with all that I am, and who I know myself to be, and the degree to how close I am to that “beingness” is the measure of success that I have found very useful and helpful for me on my own personal journey. This is the reason I continue to shine, and feel very passionate and enjoy my own life is because I’ve practiced being aligned with who I am. It is a very fulfilling space to be in. =) Measuring success is looking within.

Begin now to use how you feel about your life and how aligned you feel about your life at this very moment. Practice this new model and keep it as a future reference that you can always come back to for your own personal growth journey as a measure of success.

Practice This New Model

This takes practice to start choosing to live a life in this way, but if you can see at the core the very essence of this principle that success is more of a “feeling” than anything else, you will start to see that this is the most accurate measure of success.

Success has more to do with how aligned you are with who you really are inside. That is all. In some circles this is referred to as a person’s “swagger.” But, simply it is just the person is being who they truly are, feeling comfortable with themselves, and are enjoying the process of their own life.

It seems simple, but I think society tries to make it more complicated than it really is, in an attempt to control and restrict the population from owning their own true power and being the true light shining beings they already know themselves to be. Measuring success is how you measure with you. Measuring success is measuring yourself with yourself.

Practice this model in your own life, you will awaken to the power already deep within yourself that has always been there.
Measuring success begins with measuring yourself.

It is an inspiring idea. If I look back to my life right now it as indeed a statement that can be true. It would mean that feeling gratitude and joy is the greatest achievement there is on earth. Maybe it is. What I like about this idea, is that is completely internal referenced and you can achieve without the help of any external source – individual people, society, money or material.

    Hey Marc,
Yes, from this type of model you can actually attain the material things faster I believe because you are coming from a place or knowing that you already have it. So, if you want the material items, feel yourself already in alignment with those things and create from that space. That is when the internal and external start to come together. But, at the end of the day it is the fulfillment and feelings of gratitude anyway. It circles around nicely.

  3. Hi Baker,

Couldn’t have said it better myself. We should measure success on how we feel about ourselves not what others or society thinks.

Sometimes,I feel I am running out of time to be successful but your post makes me feel far better and unhurried..

It’s terrible when you feel so unsuccessful and you look up at everyone around you, and all of them seems to have a better job, better career; better life.

It makes you wanna be on their shoes and regret the many wasted times in the past.

  6. Baker this is excellent. We have the option of defining success for ourselves, based on whatever criteria we choose. Most people don’t ever take the time to think about that. You choose alignment. So do I. :) Like I always say: Sure, the stuff is great, but the happiness is what keeps me coming back for more.

Your posts are getting better and better!

  8. I do believe that success is the feeling of inner happiness and contentment; not merely a fulfillment in the external world…Although many people perceive it this way, I think otherwise as I believe that no one is even called successful if it is only measured though material things and other peoples thoughts…

Great post. I see success as a road paved with failures. Positive failures. Failures that let me learn and get better.

I listen a lot to Brain Tracy, and i recommend him with all my heart.

Many milliners failed many many times before hitting the jackpot with their business.

It take them 17 failed business to achieve success!

It was simply a learning process!

Said that – if something does not go as we expected, don’t worry it will get better next time, and even better next time.

    Persistence is the key !
