“We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.”
-Buddah

Many people want to find out the one secret to having more joy in their life. They have mastered all the things they were supposed to master, acquired whatever  they wanted in life, yet there is still that missing feeling of authentic joy in their life.

The truth is, that joy  cannot be found anywhere else then from within. Take inventory of all the times you felt truly joyful in your life and you will see that it was a moment in time when you felt really great about being you. It was a moment in time when you were being yourself from the inside-out.

Sure, it may have come in the form you doing some type of action, or acting out a service to another in some form. Yet, you know that moment of joy came from deep within your spirit, that you probably can’t even begin to describe in words. It came from a “feeling place” from within you.

I live a joyful life today because of the very simple tips I will share with you below. It wasn’t always this way. I used to chase after things I thought would bring me joy, but were only temporary… like a sugar rush. Those things lasted for such a short period of time. Long term authentic joy is more of a way of life. These 3 tips that I will share with you below,  are very simple in nature, yet when practiced on  a consistent basis leads to a life of authentic joy.

But, I’ve found the true essence of joy comes from within you spiirt.

Below I have included Baker’s 3 Simple tips for joy, that I know when practiced on regular and consistent basis will up your level of joy.

1. Follow your passion: One of the things that truly is remarkable about life, is the fact that I believe everyone has a passion. When you begin to uncover and find what that is you will begin to find joy in activities that feel more real and honest to you. When you go around chasing after things that aren’t your passion you will feel being left empty handed in the long run.  Learn to consistently experiment with passions you always knew were inside of you. As you experiment with these passions, focus solely on one or two that you feel brings you the most excitement. As you train yourself and follow the one or two  passions  and use their energies focus aligned with their passion, a sense of joy fills their efforts and they live in  a state of truth and bliss. When I am making efforts to continually follow my passion, I tend to feel more joyful at the end of the day.

2. Be Present. One of the things that takes people further away from their joy is constantly either living too much in the past, or too much in the future. Live in the now with pure acceptance of what “Is” you will find the more you can accept what “Is” now, that joy seems to flow out of you more naturally. All that exist is right here right now. Embrace the present moment.

3. Share. Share the good things you have with others. As you share your good blessings and things with others you begin a cycle of never ending flow of joy. When you look to some of the more joyful times in your life, you were probably being of service to others in some way. The process of giving and being of service to those that need it is always reciprocated. A good rule of thumb, that I found very useful for me is. If I feel I’m lacking something, I give that something away. This works out great, because indeed you always get back what you give out. This is law.

It’s amazing when you hang out with people who share their joy and happiness, and lift others up to a higher level (those are the ones I love keeping in my circle). Thanks for sharing Baker!
