My Experience On Youtube as User name: BakeryOfIdeas

I haven’t really done any YouTube videos lately. My focus is more on completing my awesome new book. But, I do want to share with you my Youtube experience thus far. The opportunity that I received, and some stuff I don’t like about Youtube as well. Early November 2011 I received an   from Youtube, that has since  allowed me to post the Square Google Ad banner that you see on the top right hand side of some of my videos and earn passive income.

My Youtube Monetization Approval Process

If you go to one of my videos, for example my Law of Attraction video:  you will see that there is a square box on the right hand corner, that is a Google adsense ad. I make money in my Google adsense account  every time someone clicks on that box. This is great. Just another passive income stream coming in for me which is nice. I like the idea of simply creating videos and being able to monetize on it with no effort on my part, accept for simply approving the ad codes to be placed next to some of my Youtube videos.

Like I mentioned, the email that I got from Youtube, saying that was approved happened a few months ago in early November 2011. The next month in early December, I actually got  my first ever Adsense check, for when I posted Google ads on this site BakerThebrand.com that came in the mail. It was pretty exciting.

The great thing was that my Google adesnse check was pure passive income.  So it was awesome getting my first google adsense check from my blog in Dec, and even more awesome knowing that I also have more ads approved on my Youtube channel in Nov. as well.

Which was  helping to increase my passive income stream on adsense.

Below is the actual copy and pasted version of the email I received from Youtube in November regarding monetization  of my Youtube Videos.

The Email From Youtube Reads:

How Did I get Approved to place Google Ads by Youtube With Only 200 Subscribers on Youtube?

So, I don’t have that many subscribers 200 is small compared to well-known bloggers doing over 100k-1 million.  So, how did I get the ads on my YouTube channel with only 200 subscribers to my YouTube channel? I think its probably because at the time Youtube was crawling through sites to select,  I was posting videos quite frequently. Like one video a week.

Also, I think that the stuff I have to say is real high quality stuff, no fluff and just pure  inspiration speaking straight from the heart, that people love…  that YouTube, was like. “Okay we will give you a shot.” =)

The only thing I don’t like that Youtube has done recently is completely change the layout.

I personally prefer the old layout. I actually stopped going on Youtube for awhile, because the layout was not straightforward and easy to navigate. But, there is a way you change the layout to the older version on Youtube.

Why I’m Doing Well Online: Baker’s 3 Simple Ingredients To Success Online

I’ve made a lot of mistakes when I first got online as someone creating content. At first sight,  it can be a scary world this whole being published, blogging, and making videos. But, the 3 tips that I want to share with you on my success journey so far include:

1.  Be yourself.

The irony of the web space is the more you just act like yourself misspellings, and all the  more revenue you generate. When you work a typical 9-5 corporate job, you are being looked over by the scary big boss man, and you limit your creative expression. Even on on a self employed level, where you are like doing side jobs building websites for other people etc, your creativity and income level is capped at a certain ceiling.

I really don’t think that too many people emphasis the concept of “Being” in their social media pursuits very much. But, that is probably the number 1 thing I would say is the secret ingredient to my continued success online. Don’t be afraid to be yourself, and mess up a lot. The journey is what matters, not the destination. You really do learn as you go along.

2. Keep Creating and Stay Flowing .

One of the concepts that I will probably not do a great job at describing is the concept of flow. When I am in the flow, I just keep it going. The universe is always going to give you those chances to hop on board and ride the waves. Sometimes the waves are higher and you can ride them longer and harder than others, but sometimes they are short lived.

It is just about knowing how to catch that flow, and keep on creating. If you look at a lot of the successful bloggers, and Youtube channels out there. Those people are always creating. They are consistent with their craft. They have mastered the art of “flow” Staying in the flow is essential to any worthwhile online success. Change your focus, from making money to serving more people on your desired platform(s). Serving more people makes the money come in.

3.  Be Well-known.

Literally. For those that aren’t following me on Twitter, you probably are missing out. The reason is because on my Twitter, I mention on my bio that I’m a “well-known” blogger. Being well-known can actually be something you call yourself, and people just automatically start treating you that way. Like I don’t even have 500 followers on Twitter, but I’m still well known, because I say so. It is just about calling yourself what you aspire to be, making moves to get there and next thing you know your making dough from just speaking your heart and being yourself on Youtube videos with only 200 subscribers! =)

In all seriousness, I do want to share with you all the fact that it doesn’t really require much to get to where you want to go in life. If you have a dream, you just keep going at it. Also if you do have a Youtube Channel with videos that people are watching, and you are passionate about what you are putting out there with integirty, morality, and good ethics then keep your videos up. Don’t take your videos down. If you think of it your views only go up. There is no “minus” views on any given video.

You, just really need to trust you instincts and work your passion, the universe will provide for you if you are showing up with commitment to your craft. That’s a pretty exciting space to be in. I live this exciting life in real time. I’m sure if you follow your excitement, that life does turn around for you upwards in your unique and  special  way.
