Everyone from researchers, sages, contemporary and and ancient philosophers have agreed that that the KEY to happiness is strong ties to other people.

Relationships are the gems in your life

So LET’S START!

12 Tips to strengthen your friendships: Why Likeability Matters in Life & Business

1.) Be Genuine and Authentic. No one likes to be around fake people. Every conversation you carry has energy. It can either be use to lift people up or tear someone down. Sometimes it’s not what you say in front of their face that matters. The BIG QUESTION is: Do you represent people well when they’re not in front of your face. It’s what you say when they are not around that MATTERS. I work on this a lot. If you want to invest on solid good relationships that last a lifetime, be a MIRROR!

2.) Be more interested about the person “Don’t you find that to be true? Everyone wants his life to matter. Everyone wants to feel significant. Don’t you feel that way? Then you know it’s true for everybody, even those who don’t show it” Make People feel important FOCUS on them and not just on yourself.

3.) Be thoughtful Remember little things. If someone mentioned their daughter like the movie “New Moon” go out of your way and ask your friend “Hey how did your daughter like the movie?” From the smallest things to big things such as remembering a person’s birthday, anniversary, etc… Also be aware of someone’s likes and dislikes. It shows that you pay attention. I learned from author Gretchen Rubin best selling writer whose new book, The Happiness Project she shares Make the effort to say “This made me think of you.” “Congrats, I saw the piece about your book deal!” Be Observant. Don’t be lazy when it comes to friendships.

4.) Show Up to events (Birthdays, BBQ, baby shower, weddings, camping, etc.) Be well rounded in your relationships.

5.) Keep in Touch. In this day of technological advances we have no excuse not to keep in touch–call someone, email, facebook, or twitter. I am good-old fashioned and I call my friends/family or write a note/letters. Just for the heck of it. And no, I’m not looking to receive anything back. Have a separate calendar and remember when you last saw your friends or family. Always look to Building a deepening relationship every year. A research has been done that “people with 5 or more close friends (not including family members) are 50 percent more likely to describe themselves as “very happy” than those with fewer strong relationships.” If you tend to move a lot having a social media account/or 1 email will really be on your best intention I have heard that “You lose five people with every move.”

6.) Be a GREAT Listener. I am reminding myself this more than anything else. What I noticed about people is the lack of listening skills. We have 2 ears but only 1 mouth and should use them proportionately! Since you don’t see your friends/family everyday when you get together LISTEN to what they have been going through in their life. Take your time talking to people, connect with them, and be sensitive to their feelings, wants, and needs. Be Engaged! Stop using your latest gadgets I-phone, itouch, or crackberry etc…

7.) Ask Questions let them do the talking. I have likened this strategy by John C. Maxwell in Winning with People

“Listen,
ask questions,
listen again,
ask more questions,
listen some more,
then
respond”

8.) Be Helpful–This is what I do my best here on my blog, in person with my family or friends, with my team, or collaborating tribe members. Author Keith Ferrazi “calls it “universal currency” – ways to be generous and spread goodwill to anyone that we meet. Generosity is the first step to warming up to a relationship.”

9.) Be approachable Smiling is contagious and so is happiness. There is a psychological term called “emotional contagion” which basically means we catch emotions of others whether they are happy, sad, or angry. If you are approachable it creates a pleasant atmosphere.

10.) Work at creating and building value. My mentor Katie Freiling talks about this thoroughly. Remember that if you fill your head with mental noise that doesn’t serve you, or fast food media, or gossip YOU will repel people. You will swing to an extreme of negativity and start to lose friends and influence.

11.) See People as “10″ -I love this! I heard it from John C. Maxwell He calls it the Number 10 Principle. He says, “Try to love others and see them as 10s. If you have family, start with your spouse and your kids. And then broaden that circle from there. Believe the best in others, and you will bring out the best” beautiful!!!

I say 3P’s

a.) Be Passionate about learning and growing in your own relationships withYourself & people
b.) Be Purposeful in your Relationships
c.) Be Positive always

12.) Be the first to say I’m sorry even if it’s not your fault. I enjoy Dr Hew Len healing method of ho’oponopono “I’m Sorry Please Forgive Me, I Love You and I thank You” If you let an anger linger for a long time it’s like having a monkey on your back. It becomes annoying next thing you know you’re so consumed with anger years later and you don’t even remember what it was about. Be the first to forgive it gives you Peace of Mind, Zen-like feeling, and research shows it’s good for your heart. Know in every situation you MAKE YOUR OWN WEATHER. This is very important ****

Relationship is like traveling to unknown continents–you never know who you are going to meet in the journey. But if we listen with the INTENTION to Love, Accept, Admire, and Respect the person for who they are and who they are becoming. When you nourish and nurture the precious relationships in your life then it becomes a RICH & REWARDING EXPERIENCE. Remember you need close, long-term relationships, you need to be able to confide in people you can trust, you need to belong, you need to be able to give and receive support.

And Please REMEMBER Relationships are the gems in your life

Do you have any tips you can share with me that has worked for you in the past?

I am very INTERESTED in what you have to share. Leave a comment down below with your thoughts on friendship and don’t forget to tweet it if you liked it & Share it to your friends & family on Facebook.

Thank You so much for visiting today!

We will talk soon

Hello Chuck, thank you for being the special guest interview on my blog. I decided to have you featured on my blog, because I am in the process of my own personal and spiritual development, and I came across your name through a referral that is actually assisting me on the development of this site. I’ve always been quite interested in the paranormal, even as a child. I did read up on your interesting story, about you being a psychic medium, but not just any kind of psychic medium, but one that helps out with investigating unsolved cases as a “psychic cop.” I was intrigued by your story and the type of work that you do.

Chuck: It’s a pleasure to share my development stages with you Baker!

1. Baker: Can you please tell the readers about your background, and how you got started in your type of work?

Chuck: My grandmother an my mother were mediums. They never helped me with the process instead kept it a secret. When I would experience unexplainable things as a child my mother was very good at redirecting the topic to one of little interest. I wanted answers!! When I was around thirty I started knowing when people would die. I would be riding around in a police car and I would know when a friend or relative would cross over. I would usually get a message along with the vision. These were easy to later confirm.

2. Baker: Now, can an individual develop psychic abilities or is this something one needs to be born with?

Chuck: I believe that everyone has psychic abilities. I have observed people that have joined meditation groups with the expectation of seeing or hearing Spirit. Some connect on the first try and some would take up to a year to connect. The good news is that once the connection is made development can be very rapid IF you continue to study!

3. Baker:
I would assume that there are probably skeptics that you come across, because I would say to the majority of people are not very familiar with the paranormal/psychic world. How do you deal with the skeptics and still get the job done so well and with stunning accuracy?

Chuck: Great question! Watching a child eat an ice cream cone is boring because all kids can do that. If everyone could connect with the other side and every message was faultless, mediumship would be equally boring. Converting a non-believer into a believer is not always possible but when it happens, we have one more spiritual person on our side! The best way to convince a non-believer that this is real is to give validations that are specific unique. If I feel negative energy around a skeptical person, I don’t attempt to read them because they will look for an excuse to put a pessimistic spin on anything you say.

4. Baker
: Describe to me some of the feelings you get personally, after you have accurately solved a mystery case, that probably wouldn’t have been solved normally with what detectives are given, with by only using their everyday normal 5 senses? I mean there is a lot of emotions I’m sure you deal with in a particular case, as far as family members, victims, murderers etc.

Chuck: For me it is all about receiving the information accurately. I would never want to point the finger at the wrong person or discredit the victim in any way. Many times I have to give painful but true information to the family. It’s been a year since the show Psychic Search, Psychic Cop was filmed. My sister and I sat with the family yesterday and we talked about this topic. When we were leaving I stated that their son Terry had been betrayed and I was privileged enough to become his voice and speak the truth for him…

5. Baker: You have a show coming out on the Biography Channel, can you give the readers a little more information on when it airs, and a little preview of what to expect on the show?

Chuck: The show “Psychic Search” was created to showcase people that claim to have special abilities. I was selected to demonstrate my unique ability of communicating with our loved ones on the other side. Having a police background added credibility to my claim. I was assigned to help a family that knew their 30 year old son was murdered however the police would only list him as missing. My task was to establish that he was or was not on the other side. I knew that morning that he was murdered. We worked with two detectives that were non-believers and by the end of the show conceited that I had correctly spelled out his murder hypothesis and that their beliefs in the case matched my conclusion. They worked on the case 6 years, I worked on it 5 days!

6. Baker: That’s really interesting, I normally don’t watch T.V at all, but I’ll definitely have to check out the show because the story line sounds very intriguing. The fact that you were a regular cop first, and then turned psychic, now blending the two together is pretty remarkable. Chuck, I want to thank you once again for being a part of this blog interview. Check out dates and time for the show “Psychic Search” featured on The Biography Channel HERE. I appreciate the work that you do, and I wish you much continued success with your work!

Chuck: Meeting you on the phone was a true pleasure. I wish that I had your knowledge when I was your age! Enjoy the holidays!!! Chuck…

Baker: Thank you for your kind words. Happy Holidays to you as well!!!

Hello all.

In remembrance of this current flu season, I thought it would be a great idea to do an interview focused on physical health for my November featured interview. I hope this interview helps shed some light on good physical and sound health. I had the great privelage of interviewing Medical Interviewing Caroline Sutherland, the best-selling author of The Body “Knows,” Caroline Sutherland has a vast clinical background as an allergy-testing technician in environmental medicine, which is where her intuitive gift developed. Caroline’s father and grandfather were both medical doctors. As a child, the “blueprint” of her family lineage created important seeds for her future career as a medical intuitive. For more than 25 years, she has lectured internationally, and her intuitive impressions have positively affected the lives of over 100,000 people. Caroline is the founder of Sutherland Communications Inc.

bodyknows2 Baker Interviews Caroline Sutherland Best Selling Author of the Book "The Body Knows."

BAKER: Hello Caroline. Thank you for taking part in this blog interview with me, it is an honor to have you on this blog. Can you tell the readers what does it mean to be a Medical Intuitive?

CAROLINE: You are welcome! A medical intuitive is someone who has the ability to “see” beyond the normal levels of perception into subtle levels below. I believe this is a teachable skill and with practice can be developed over time. I started out as an allergy testing technician for medical doctors and naturopathic physicians. During the process of being involved in the assessment and treatment of over 55,000 patient visits, I became very intuitive about the body.

BAKER: When did you begin your work and how did you know that this was going to be your life’s path?

CAROLINE: When I was 39 years old – and I ‘knew” right away that the world of alternative medicine was where I belonged. Here is my bio and e-press kit attached.

BAKER: How did you continue to do your life’s work, when there hasn’t been many people in the mainstream that weren’t doing this type of work as a medical intuitive?

CAROLINE: I love what I do. Louise Hay author of You can Heal your Life discovered me in 1999. The field of medical intuition is one of the most exciting areas of complementary medicine.I like to give people practical suggestions that they can use in every-day life.

BAKER: What would be your message for the readers today that are having a difficult time or struggling to find their own life’s path?

CAROLINE: Learn to meditate – the answers to all of life’s questions are found within. Purpose means to be of loving service. Everyone can do that in small ways and large.

BAKER: Do you believe that when people get sick or ill, that they actually get sick or ill for a reason, and it may be an indication or sign from their body to their soul to change their current actions?

CAROLINE: Yes, illness is a catalyst for change. People get sick when they resist the changes intuitively that they know they need to make.

BAKER: How did the book “The Body Knows” come about?

CAROLINE: That is what I know and understand that The Body Knows – it has a wisdom and it can repair at any age. Our goal is to mobilize that capacity to repair.

BAKER: Are there any future events the readers can look forward to seeing you in?

CAROLINE: I am about to leave for the big Hay House conference in Tampa Florida – I Can Do It! I will be doing mini-readings in booth #36 and my lecture topic is “The Body Knows – How to Stay Young”People can connect with me every Monday night for my free teleconferences where I answer questions and do “spot readings.” www.carolinesutherland.com

BAKER: Thank you Caroline for being on this interview with us. We appreciate your insight and wisdom that you share here and continue to share to countless individuals seeking your help and guidance.

CAROLINE: Thanks so much Baker. All the best with your blogs and your healing journey too! Blessings, Caroline

delicous Baker Interviews Erik Therwanger, Author of Think GREAT: 5 Steps to a Greater Life.

erik think great

Baker: Hello Erik. It’s great to have you on this blog! I decided to feature you on my blog, because I had read about your story and the challenges that you had overcome in your life. Please tell the readers about your personal story that you and your wife had to undergo a few years back?

Erik: Hi Baker. It’s a pleasure to be featured on your blog! In 1999, Gina was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It was very aggressive and she started chemotherapy immediately. We had been married for 10 months – she was 27. Her diagnosis, battle, and decision to think differently became the foundation of my book, Think GREAT.

Baker: What would you say was the most challenging part of the process?

Erik: The most challenging part for us was actually the amount of hardships that hit us at the same time. In addition to Gina’s year-long cancer treatments and two-year recovery, I had been laid off from my job, I switched to a new career, tried to be a great dad to my two sons (from a previous marriage), and my father passed away. Everything happened within a 5-year period.

Baker: Many skeptics out there still doubt the power of our minds and the amazing results we can get by just changing our thoughts. What do you say to the skeptics out there reading this right now that don’t believe in the power of the mind, especially the power of the mind during major life challenges?

Erik: When you start to lose everything, you find that your mindset may be all you have! The mind is the most powerful tool we possess. People, who doubt that, usually do not understand how to harness it properly! Just before Gina received her first cycle of chemo, her oncologist told me to “keep her spirits high.” Even with years of medical training and experience, he understood the power of the mind!

Baker: How did the book “Think Great” come about?

Erik: Over the years, we had many people tell us that they were inspired by our story, especially due to the fact that Gina was told that she would never have children due to her treatments: chemotherapy, radiation, and a stem-cell transplant. 6 years after going into remission we found out that she was pregnant – today our daughter is 3. During this time period we continued to focus on accomplishing life-changing goals!

Baker: How did you come up and formulate the “5 steps to a Greater Life” ?

Erik: I based my program on 2 distinct disciplines: the duties of a U.S. Marine and the duties of a caregiver. I studied people who had achieved greatness in their lives and found 5 very common components that I could apply to my desire for a greater life: Goals, Reasons, Expectations, Actions, and Tracking. Each of these steps are detailed in my book and website: www.thinkgreat90.com

Baker: What is the main message that you intend to pass on with your audience in your workshops?

Erik: My message is that anyone can achieve a greater life by accomplishing life-changing goals, no matter what circumstances they face!

Baker: What are some of future goals you have, that people could look forward to joining you in on?

Erik: I am writing a series of Think GREAT books. Each book will be focused on helping people to accomplish specific life-changing goals: losing weight, earning more money, increasing sales, improving leadership skills, etc.
I am also a Legislative Ambassador for the American Cancer Society and participate extensively in the Relay for Life with Gina. Together, our goal is to help eliminate cancer and give people hope!

Baker: Well Erik, I’d like to personally thank you for taking the time out to do this interview, and I hope many more people continue to be touched and inspired by your wonderful story!

Erick: Baker, thanks for allowing me to share my story. I appreciate everything you do!
